Every TapLearn game is planned from the national curriculum, researched before it's built, and checked by our team before it goes live. Here's exactly how, including where we use AI.
1. We start from the national curriculum
Our list of topics comes from the national curriculum in England: the Department for Education's programmes of study for each subject and year. Every topic is linked to the official curriculum statements it covers, so we know exactly what a game has to teach and which year it's for.
2. We research each topic
Before a game is made, we research the topic: what children are expected to know at that age, how schools usually teach it, and the mistakes and misconceptions children commonly have. We use AI tools to help with this research, and we check what they find against the Department for Education's own documents.
3. We plan it chapter by chapter
Each game is split into short chapters, and each chapter teaches particular curriculum statements. Chapter titles say plainly what they teach, so you can see what your child has covered. On every game's page you can read each chapter and the curriculum statements behind it.
4. We build it to explain, not just test
Every chapter opens with a short animated explanation of the big idea. Then children try it themselves, with hints when they need them, and a few questions check it has sunk in. A narrator reads every instruction aloud, with captions on screen. AI tools help us build the games, following our own detailed design and teaching rules.
5. We check every game before it goes live
Our team plays through every game before it's published, checking that it works, that it teaches what it says it teaches, and that it suits the age it's for.
6. We keep improving
If you spot a mistake or something that doesn't work, please email us at hello@taplearn.co.uk. We fix problems as quickly as we can, and improve games as we learn what helps children most.
What we don't do
- We don't add adverts, loot boxes or daily streaks designed to keep children hooked.
- We don't put made-up reviews or testimonials on our site.
- We don't claim a game was written or approved by anyone who didn't write or approve it.
